Oct 11th Practice

Today was our last day of practice :(.  It was cut short by rain, so we were only able to run a few drills.   Here the kids were getting in line to do another round of "Coach Says".  It was getting real hard to fool them anymore as coach Evan and I have found out over the past few practices.  The kids have really learned to listen to instructions well.

We all had a great time today.  So well in fact, kids that were not on the team even showed up.  Older and younger brothers can be seen in this picture.  All of the parents were great.  Everyone clapped for the kids, and let them all know how well they were doing.  One of the kids older brother was a help throughout the season, his little brother learned alot  by his examples.

This is picture of a few of the kids as they ran off the field after their last practice.  They all tried hard from beginning to end.  It was a cold, wet day, but they all came out to practice and try hard.  I hope they all continue to play next year, and maybe with some luck I will get a few of them back.  Coach Evan and I are already looking foward to returning to the coaching ranks this spring.

One last team picture.  This was actually the first drill they learned.  The drill was "Take a knee".  It was great, I only had to show it to them once, and the rest of the time I could just yell "Take a knee" and they would all run up, sit in half circle around the coaches and listen.

My last picture with the team.  This was during an awards ceremony at the end of practice where all the kids got a certificate, team picture and a trophy.  I am not sure about the other kids, but Liam was so proud of his trophy.  He took it out and showed everyone he knew about his "win", which is what he called it.  Speaking for coach Evan, we both learned alot spending time with the kids, and were kinda bummed the first Monday that we did not have a practice.  Thank you to all the children and their parents for giving us an opportunity to spend some great time with you.
